Spring Wine Walk

Taste 20 different wines while strolling through shops along Southport Ave or Roscoe St! Find your new favorite bottles and shop special discounts from participating stores to welcome spring with new apparel, home goods or services! Choose from three different routes and enjoy candy pairings curated by Candyality with some of the wines along each route!

Thursday, April 7 from 5:30 - 8:30PM | At Businesses along Roscoe St from Damen to Western and Southport Ave from Belmont to Grace

PURCHASE TICKETS HERE

Each Wine Taster will receive a commemorative tasting glass, wine samples at businesses along their ticketed route, and an event guide listing business locations and special discounts. If you are on one of the Roscoe routes, you are welcome to visit businesses on the other Roscoe route to shop their discounts, but you will only be able to receive wine tastings at the businesses along your ticketed route.

  • Proof of vaccination is required at the event check-in

  • Masks are optional inside businesses unless otherwise noted at the business entrance

Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois Free Live Webinar

“What Can We Learn about Our Ancestors from Jewish Surnames Adopted in the Russian Empire?” will be the topic of a virtual presentation by scholar and author Alexander Beider for the Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, meeting of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois at 2 p.m. CST.

The Sill Winter Plant Care Workshop

Join us for a Winter Plant Care In-Person Workshop on Tuesday, January 25th at 7pm CST at our Chicago shop in Southport. Level up your plant care knowledge alongside our shops’ plant experts and meet local plant parents!

This class includes an interactive presentation on lighting and environment changes, troubleshooting, followed by a Q&A session and a hands on neem oil application. You will bring home a new neem oil, mister, and neem oil solution that you mixed during the demonstration. All you need is to bring a notebook if you want to take notes!

Premiere of MOODS OF NĀYIKĀ: a South Asian dance & drag film!

Who is She? MOODS OF NĀYIKĀ is a celebration of the nāyikā - the heroine - who is etched into ancient Indian literature. In eight dynamic episodes our ashta nāyikā emerges with agency, and all at once uncertain, sexy and powerful. Created by Chicago South Asian performers, dancemaker Ashwaty Chennat and drag performer Abhijeet, this is an explosion of South Asian queer artistry and the rising scene of local digital performance.

Join us for the world premiere! This presentation will include a themed cocktail hour in the Music Box lounge with snacks, live music, dance and drag performances by ABHIJEET, ASHWATY CHENNAT, LAKSHA DANTRAN, MASALA SAPPHIRE, CHETHAN ANANT. Q&A Panel discussion will follow the screening.

Finding Moments of Joy During the Holidays

Holidays can be stressful enough on their own, however, caring for someone with dementia can add a whole new element of stress. This program will provide tools for engaging the individual and discuss ways in which you can adapt holiday traditions to include the individual with dementia both at home and in a community.

All participants will be entered into a drawing, and 5 participants will be chosen at random to receive a Holiday Basket.
